Frequently Asked Questions

What Garmin watches are compatible?
Training Zones works with most Garmin watches that support Connect IQ, including Fenix, Venu, Forerunner, and Vivoactive series. Check the Garmin Connect IQ store for the full compatibility list.
Do I need my phone nearby?
Your phone is only needed when the workout finishes to upload the data to the cloud. The data field works independently on your watch during the workout. Once the workout ends, your watch will sync the data to your phone via Bluetooth, and the phone uploads it to the server.
What heart rate zones does the app track?
Training Zones tracks all 5 standard heart rate zones: Zone 1 (Recovery), Zone 2 (Aerobic), Zone 3 (Tempo), Zone 4 (Threshold), and Zone 5 (Maximum). You can see real-time zone distribution and time spent in each zone during your workout.
How do I get support?
You can contact support at [email protected] for any billing questions.
Is the app free?
Training Zones is available on the Garmin Connect IQ Store. Check the store listing for pricing details.
How accurate are the heart rate zones?
The zones are calculated based on your maximum heart rate and use standard heart rate zone formulas. The accuracy depends on your Garmin watch's optical heart rate sensor. For best results, ensure your watch fits snugly on your wrist.
Is my data secure?
Yes! We use secure authentication and encrypted connections. Your training data stays on your Garmin device. We only store your account information needed for the service.
Do I need to install both the App and the Data Field?
The Data Field is required — it collects your heart rate zone data during workouts. The App is optional — it simply lets you view your data directly on the watch. You can always see all your data on the website dashboard instead.
What if my watch wasn't connected to my phone when the workout ended?
If your watch wasn't connected to your phone when the workout finished, the data will be stored on the watch. To sync it, simply start a new workout with the Data Field active — this will trigger the upload of any previous unsent data. You can then stop and delete the new workout.
